ABOUT US
Cristina Francisco graduated from the University of New Haven with a B.A. in Music Industry and a minor in business management. She is passionate about making positive changes within the music industry evident in her 2022 senior thesis, "Analysis of the Music Industry's Power Disparity And Recommendations for Change." She is interested in contracts, copyright law, and artist rights. Currently, Cristina works as a Clerical Support Coordinator and Consultant for the Music Production Department at Warner Bros. Television.
She is originally from Ohio and briefly lived in Connecticut while in college. She was always surrounded by music whether it was her family trying their hand at playing instruments, running a concert venue, or operating a radio show. Cristina was more drawn to the business side wanting to follow in the foot steps of her family's entrepreneurial side.
During the pandemic, Cristina felt like she wanted to do more than just attend virtual classes and her other curriculars. She was applying to internships and was thinking about her post graduation life. Cristina realized she didn't want to wait until she graduated to get real world experience or to start a passion project. She wanted to apply her music industry knowledge and business classes to a project of her own. While being online, she reached out to her peers in hopes that someone else would want to kickstart their career too! She knew it was something she couldn't do on her own and needed someone else who was determined, resilient and dedicated. Luckily, she knew exactly who to reach out to. This project has been in the making for almost two years, now her and Amy are ready to launch!
In her free time, she loves to write and read. She has a new book club with her friend and enjoys posting recommendations! Cristina also enjoys watching horror movies, and TV shows like, Criminal Minds, Gilmore Girls, and Hawaii Five-0. Some of her favorite artists include Harry Styles, SZA, Midland, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke. Fun Fact: Cristina was also part of her university's student programming board as the Vice President of Finance and helped bring Blackbear and Sleepy Hallow to campus!
Amy Suraci was born and raised in New Jersey. From an early age, she took a strong interest in music and music culture. Of the many hobbies and activities Amy took part in, nothing stood out quite like her interest in and passion for music. So, when it came time to choose a college, career, and path in life, it just made sense for her to choose music. One problem? Amy has no musical ability. So music business it was! And she's incredibly grateful for this very not thought-out, life-altering decision!
At the University of New Haven, Amy earned a B.A. in Music Industry. During her time there, she floated around all areas of the industry, trying to find her path. That journey allowed her to experience all kinds of roles, from being an A & R Rep. for her university's record label, Rein Records, to being an On-Air DJ and the Station Manager at her university's radio station, 88.7 WNHU. By the end of her college experience, Amy found passion in project management.
But it wasn't an easy journey to get to that decision. When the pandemic hit and life seemed to stop, Amy struggled daily with feeling like she was wasting her days doing nothing. Thankfully, classmate and close friend, Cristina reached out to Amy with the same concerns and in hopes of doing something meaningful with her suddenly abundant downtime. After a few long, exciting, and hopeful zooms, Cristina and Amy began working on the passion project that has now become KRM!
Post college graduation, Amy chose to continue her career in radio, working as a Sales Assistant at one of the biggest rock radio stations in New Jersey. But just like during the pandemic, she couldn't ignore her other passions and the dream she started to build with Cristina. So, Amy and Cristina decided to buckle down and finally launch KRM to the world.
Aside from music, Amy enjoys heading to the beach (even in the winter!), listening to true crime podcasts, and binging 80s and 90s rom-coms. Some of her favorite artists include Greta Van Fleet, Bob Dylan, Ava Maybee, and The Regrettes. Fun Fact: Amy pretended to be an active member of her university's student programming board for a weekend to hang out with Cristina and be backstage around Blackbear and Sleepy Hallow!
